Welcome to the home page for the City of Fayetteville Engineering and Infrastructure Department. Our department provides a variety of functions and services in an effort to help make Fayetteville a great place to live. The department is divided into five divisions as follows:

The Engineering Division provides engineering and technical support services including surveying; the design of streets, sidewalks, and storm drainage facilities; the provision of design standards and the review of plans submitted for new development; and maintenance of official City maps.

The Construction Management Division provides project management and inspection for City infrastructure improvement projects including the resurfacing of City streets; provides inspection services for public infrastructure improvements in new development; issues residential driveway and other permits for work within the public right-of-way and monitors the work for compliance to standards.

The Traffic Services Division maintains the traffic signs, signals, and pavement markings on all City streets and conducts various traffic studies and investigations and recommends and facilitates traffic control improvements.

The Street Maintenance Division provides maintenance to City streets, sidewalks, and storm drainage facilities. They also provide street sweeping service to all City streets and thoroughfares.

The Stormwater Division oversees a comprehensive stormwater program providing engineered drainage infrastructure to protect property, health and safety; enhance the quality of life; preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of the public and be responsive and sensitive to the needs of residents and property owners. The Division also manages the stormwater quality program ensure compliance to NPDES permit requirements and environmental regulations for the City of Fayetteville.
