Project Narrative:
The stormwater improvement project for Swainey Avenue was ready to go when the guidance came out for the stimulus funding. This $600,000 project holds the distinction of being the City’s first official stimulus award. The project will address flooding and drainage issues in the Kornbow neighborhood. It will have a positive impact on the environment. Work began on the project October 2009. The design consists of upgrading the drainage system along Swainey Avenue. The system outfalls onto a Clean Water Management Trust Conservation Easement. This project has gone through the City's bidding process. The contract award is pending Construction, Grants and Loans approval.
